Tim Monahan
Mr. Fortune has more than two decades of experience in
healthcare. His background includes hospital information technology
and management, microbiology, global sales and marketing. He
started his career with McDonnell Douglas in electronics
engineering and was instrumental in creating one of the largest
suppliers of automated microbiology systems, Vitek Systems. While
at Vitek, Mr. Fortune directed global sales and expanded markets to
include Europe, South America, Middle East, and Asia Pacific
resulting in revenues in excess of $100 million.
Mr. Fortune started his information technology career in 1990
with Citation Computer Systems in the laboratory sciences market.
At Citation, he held several sales and marketing positions leading
up to his assignment as Executive Vice President. Mr. Fortune
received top sales awards as Regional Sales Manager and was
responsible for increasing revenues from $15 million to $28 million
in two years. Most recently, Mr. Fortune helped direct Citation
Computer Systems through acquisition by Cerner Corporation and
developed a Community healthcare strategic plan for Cerner
Citation.
Mr. Fortune’s educational background includes Electronic
Engineering (U.S. Navy), Computer Sciences (St. Louis Community
College), Microbiology (Internship Program McDonnell Douglas),
Payload Specialist – Microbiology (Johnson Spaceflight
Center).
